Can't Stop the Decapitator!!!

Labelled as "The Decapitator" in the streets, this is a new unknown artist bombing the print ads all around the world in cities such as London, NYC, San Paulo, and Paris. "The Decapitator" takes the streets and gives ads his own treatment...giving the targets the guillotine penalty. In a style reminiscent of Kaws's early work as well as what Banksy's prank upon the Paris Hilton album release...

Definitely some dope work...it'd be great to see the "decapitation" make its way out to Asia

U-N-I - Land of the Kings (HD)

Despite the decent number of quality hip hop tunes that came out this year, this is probably my favorite hip hop track of 2009...and I remember I got mad excited when this music video came out earlier this year...very beautifully done and somehow reminds me of MGMT

Anyway, while randomly browsing around today...I noticed that Thurzday from U-N-I posted a HD version of this music video 3 months ago...enjoy if u ain't seen this already...if u seen it...watch again!

Japanese Post-Rock

I'm a big fan of Japanese music in general...whether it be the rock, hip hop, trip hop, reggae, etc etc...it just seems that the Japanese are connoisseurs of good music and keep the art in its realest essential form...

Japanese instrumental/post-rock is some of the most passionate music I have heard in my life...there is no lyrics in 99.9% of the songs but you can totally feel its passion, hope, melancholy, and liveliness...this is definitely music that has helped me get through some of the tougher times in my life...

Anyway, I wanna write about the post-rock in Japan today cuz I got an extremely exciting news today...one of my favorite Japanese bands, Toe, is releasing a new album titled "For Long Tomorrow" in December 9, 2009.

Here is the video trailer:

Toe:
Here is their live performance of "Goodbye" at Fuji Rock Fest 2007

MONO
This name is possibly the most well-known in America out of these bands in the list...I remember I got introduced to them when some random dude walked into Milk Bar and started talkin bout them...and he somehow convinced me to check this band out...I'm glad I did...
Here are two clips from Mono's live tour in the U.S...their buildup and structure is ridiculously dope!

LITE
a band introduced to me by my dude Josh...here is their music video for "Ghost Dance"

Miaou
also introduced to me by Josh...
this is my favorite song by them...called "Lasa"...please, I stress PLEASE listen to it ALL THE WAY THROUGH to feel the passion of the music

Mouse on the Keys
Recently discovered this band through some linkages from Toe, anyway this shit sounds and looks amazing...but this is the only thing I have seen...still gotta research much more on them...

Rest in Peace

Those of you in Ohio...Listen Up and do NOT miss out on this party!!!

Rest in Peace a party hosted by my homies from the SKFO crew...most definitely the best party you will see take place in the state of Ohio this year!

Here's a message from SKFO:
We use the term “Rest In Peace” in sarcasm because of the many interpretations this statement can exhibit. With the recent economic downturn, Cincinnati and many cities alike have been affected tremendously in the areas of entertainment for the masses. “Rest In Peace” is an effort to motivate the city to revive true, exciting events in this recession-driven environment. “Rest In Peace” is also testament to those who came before us who have expanded their creative genius to other parts of the world. Finally, “Rest In Peace” will be an event without equal- further solidifying our footprint to elevate above the generic “Top 40” nightclubs that have little to do with soul and music than money and greed. We have learned that raw creativity and energy integrated into an event reveals the genuine pleasure of the moment. We understand that people become loyal to a brand being fully immersed in the moment. That’s the type of feeling this event will bring.
